One of the recurring features of the taking of the swally is the ability to Do Something Stupid. The part of the human brain that runs the reason/sense/logic part appears to shut down when enough alcohol is drunk.
A UK teenager at a barbecue phoned the White House in America and told them there was a bomb in New York. The seventeen year old was charged, pleaded guilty and is now awaiting sentencing.
It's a sign that the olden days of pranks being pranks and being laughed off are now long gone.

The Groom's Toast
Weddings should be a place of celebration and a convivial atmosphere. Yes there can be the occasional fight but most weddings pass off without incident bar a drunken Auntie's showing of her bloomer on the dance floor or a teen guest having his first kiss with a second cousin.
As you'd expect death is not associated with weddings and when it is, it's especially tragic. When it's one of the wedding party, it's doubly tragic. A Taiwanese groom drank too much at his own wedding and died the night of the wedding.

Too Drunk To Board
A goalkeeper was refused boarding onto an aircraft as staff said he was too drunk. Hibs new Polish goalise "could barely stand up and was lurching all over the place."

A Bridge Too Drunk
A man who took a taxi to the Forth Road Bridge in order to climb its 360 feet towers admitted he had a drink problem. No shit, Sherlock.

Where's Mitch Buchannon when you need him?
There's many things swally doesn't mix well with: driving, flying, working, etc. Another is swimming.
Some drunken bathers got into trouble off an Indian beach and had to be rescued by lifeguards. One of whom was then punched by the rescued man.
